What you are looking at
This map is built from the OpenStreetMap ALPR dataset — the same open data the DeFlock community crowdsources. Every camera on it was observed from a public road by a volunteer.
Zoomed out, each bubble is a state total. Zoom past street level and individual cameras appear, coloured red for Flock Safety and amber for every other brand.
A blank area means nobody has surveyed it yet — not that it is camera-free. Adding a camera improves every map built on the dataset.
The map cannot help you while you drive
The app puts the whole database on your phone and warns you before you reach a reader — with a second alert if you enter its field of view.
